Crazy weather

Last weekend we had 90 degree weather. Now it is settling in at 55 degrees. My body had already adjusted to the hot, so now I'm freezing in this chilly weather. The hot weather and some recent rain has caused the crab apples to bloom. The trees are just loaded with the blossoms. I also noticed that the mock orange bushes and service berries are starting to bloom.

With the price of gas, I'm really starting to look at ways to save gas while driving into town each day. I've already started to slow down and keep my feet off the gas, like they recommend on hypermilling sites. There are too many deer on my road to use cruise control. Each time I put on the cruise, out pops a deer. Gas is still cheaper than fixing a front end.

Creating an above ground pond

I decided that I wanted a pond. I started planning and digging. All was going great, until I hit bed rock about 2 feet down. I was too far down to start all over, so it has become an above ground pool. I started building up the walls with the extra rocks I had available.
Messy Desk Do you find your desk is a mess whenever you turn around? Is it a spot that just collects unfinished business? Too many items on my desk would make it too cluttered to get a spacial feel for where the item’s permanent place would be. It was just a clutter. Taking everything out to the bare minimum helps. Then when I go to put things back for a while, exaggerate the feeling. Make it big. Of course, if you're doing this around people, big actions might get a strange look or two, but it works.  The more awkward it is, often the biggest memory boost. I would love to have a product with a tray that is foam cutouts that I would push office supplies, such as the scissors and stapler into.  It wouldn’t move around or skate around my desk. And the physical feeling to it would help me remember it.  I think this is something I would love to develop.
